moviefy: rebooted

It seems today that film and TV properties are getting rebooted all the time, right? Unfortunately, not even this website can escape that trend.

This website was originally launched as MoviesCenter back on December 7, 2005. A couple of years later, it was renamed to moviefy and for almost 10 years I often struggled to keep it afloat, trying to balance work and personal issues. A couple of times I thought of just letting it go. There are already many, many movie dedicated websites, right? But I love movies, always have, and I needed an outlet to let this passion into the wild. And after over a year off, I had to bring moviefy back and what you see now is the result.

As part of this rebirth, all past articles and content have been scratched, at least for the time being. That’s why I’m calling it a reboot. I will pick and choose what material returns, and I’ll republish it with updates. Right now the main point of this website is to keep you informed with the latest and most important news from sci-fi, action, fantasy, adventure, horror and other genre films, with some of my own personal insights. I’ll also write articles and reviews for your reading pleasure, and I’m working on bringing the movie and soundtrack database back.

Though moviefy was originally meant to only cover feature-length films, the incredible rise in quality in TV means that it cannot longer be ignored. There are shows out there that can compete with any big budget film playing on the big screen, and this iteration of the site will now include that content.

As always, I keep it as a rule not to publish any unfounded rumors, so don’t expect click-bait articles and fake news. I believe there’s enough of that already elsewhere, and it’s actually poison for movie fans.

I hope you enjoy your stay here. This is still a work in process, but it’s made with a lot of love, and it’ll keep growing. Don’t forget to follow and share on all the usual suspects social networks.
