20th Century Fox has announced through their official social media accounts that the awaited Prometheus sequel will arrive earlier than originally scheduled.
Directed by Ridley Scott, who is helming his third entry in the series, Alien: Covenant is moving from August 4 to May 19, 2017. Along with the news, the first poster from the movie has been unveiled, simply showing the head of the main creature from the series, the release date and the chilling message: “Run.” It’s a very effective mood setting poster.
The change in dates must mean the studio has enough faith in the movie to put it right in the middle of the crowded box office summer season. As of now, the other big movies being released on May 19 are the horror sequel Annabelle 2, and the film adaptation of Baywatch starring Dwayne Johnson.
