Warner Bros. Pictures has revealed the first poster from Christopher Nolan’s latest film, the war thriller Dunkirk.
The film center around the Dunkirk evacuation during World War II in which 330,000 Allied soldiers surrounded by German forces were saved. In the poster we see a lone soldier witnessing the destruction around him and bears a close resemblance to others movie posters such as Star Trek Into Darkness. It’s still an effective mood establishing image even if a little clichéd. Take a look below!
The film was shot entirely in 65mm and is specifically meant to be seen in IMAX (sadly, there are no IMAX theaters anyway near to where I live). A 7 minute prologue will be played before IMAX showings of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story this week.
Dunkirk is coming to theaters in July 21, 2017 directed by Christopher Nolan and stars Tom Hardy, Kenneth Branagh, Mark Rylance, Cillian Murphy, Aneurin Barnard, James D’Arcy, Jack Lowden, Barry Keoghan, Tom Glynn-Carney, and Harry Styles with Hans Zimmer providing the music score.
