With the release date already set for April 13, 2018, we finally have some casting announcements for the X-Men’s spin-off New Mutants.

Maisie Williams known for her role as Arya Stark in Game of Thrones, and Anya Taylor-Joy who jumped to success with the horror films The Witch and Split are signing up for the upcoming X-Men film that will feature a new team of teenage mutants.

Williams will play Wolfsbane, a girl struggling with her religious beliefs and who has the ability to transform into a wolf. Taylor-Joy will play Magik a girl who uses sorcery and teleportation, and sister of Colossus.

Other mutants expected to appear in the film are psychic-telephat Danielle Moonstar, Sunspot who has the ability to absorb and channel solar power, and Cannonball who can fly at super speed surrounded by an force field.

Josh Boone of The Fault in Our Stars fame is directing the movie which is set to start production in early July with a script by Boone and Knate Lee. Simon Kinberg and Karen Rosenfelt are producing.
