Back in July last year it was reported that Cliff Martinez would work on the music for James Mangold’s Logan, but that is no longer the case.
When asked on Twitter why he wouldn’t bring Marco Beltrami back to score the film, Mangold replied saying:
Funny. I thought that was Marco I saw working on my film today, and later added,
Relax. Marco is scoring the film.
Marco Beltrami has previously worked with Mangold on 3:10 to Yuma and The Wolverine, and they seemed to get along pretty well, thus the Cliff Martinez announcement last year was a bit surprising, and while I think Martinez is an interesting composer (he scored Nicolas Winding Refn’s Drive and Only God Forgives), I’m a huge fan of Beltrami’s work, and I think the style he brought to The Wolverine will match up perfectly with what Mangold is doing with Logan.
Logan is coming to theaters on March 3, 2017 directed by James Mangold and stars Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Richard E. Grant, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant and Dafne Keen.
