20th Century Fox has released the second and final trailer for James Mangold’s Logan, the third standalone Wolverine movie and reportedly the final outing of Hugh Jackman in his most famous role.
The new trailer shows a lot more of Dafne Keen’s Laura Kinney, a.k.a. mutant X-23, and it’s a lot more action packed and less grim than the first, though still shows a very different and more serious film than the usual (DCEU notwithstanding) comic book adaptations. The trailer also goes a little into meta territory, but I’ll better just let you experience it for yourself below:
One of the big hooks about this movie other than the tone was to see the relationship between Logan and the Professor Xavier, but now I’m guessing the highlight will actually be that between Logan and Laura. I hope this movie succeeds in what is trying to do and finally teaches audiences that not all comic book adaptations need to be light and ‘fun.’
Logan is coming to theaters on March 3, 2017 directed by James Mangold and stars Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Dafne Keen, Richard E. Grant, Boyd Holbrook and Stephen Merchant, with Marco Beltrami scoring his second Wolverine movie.
