Take a look at the first poster from The Mummy starring Tom Cruise

With a trailer debut is just around the corner, Universal Pictures has revealed the first poster for their latest remake of  the horror classic.

This nice looking poster for The Mummy promises that this will be a world of gods and monsters (and with that tagline I’m getting flashbacks of this year’s Gods of Egypt).

While the Brendan Fraser starred franchise might still be fresh in our memories, the studio is hoping to infuse some new life into the property. So far looks like this new film will be something in between of the horror of the original 1932 version and the adventure genre that the 1999 remake took.

After the apparent failure of Dracula Untold, Universal is hoping The Mummy will successfully jump-start their shared monster universe with new versions of  Van Helsing and The Wolf Man already planned.

Coming to theaters on June 9, 2017, The Mummy is being helmed by Alex Kurtzman (Star Trek, Transformers) in his directorial debut from a script by Jon Spaihts (Prometheus) and stars Tom Cruise, Annabelle Wallis, Sofia Boutella, Jake Johnson, Courtney B. Vance and Russell Crowe.
