Sony has begun the marketing campaign for the remake of Paul Verhoeven’s ultra-violent, classic RoboCop.
A site was launched for the corporation responsible for the creation of the cyborg police officer, called OmniCorp for this version. You can visit omnicorp.com where you will be greeted with a short introduction video promoting the XT-908, a control drone, and the very well known ED-209, which has been, as the promo say, battlefield tested.
Sadly there’s nothing much to see at the website at this time because most of the links display an “Access denied” text.
For the looks of it, it seems that this new version of RoboCop will maintain a balance of re-imagining as well as homage to the original, as seen for instance in the ED-209 design as well as the logo for OmniCorp.
